Recently I visited India after staying abroad for many years to buy a house in Ghaziabad for my parents. The process of registration was a bit daunting and they needed TDS to be paid before the registration. However there was a lot of confusion around how TDS is paid when there are multiple buyers and sellers. In our case, there were two sellers ( wife-husband) and then three buyers( mom-dad and myself) and so the process was very complicated as it seems like in this case 6 TDS need to be filed in amount in proportion to what we are contributing. To complicate the case, I do not have Indian citizenship so I do not have an Adhar card. When I was calling various CPAs in the area to help with that, I realized many of them were not familiar enough to handle cases of NRIs who do not have aadhar cards.
